The Garcon 10 metre Landing Craft Tender comes from the drawing board of prolific Super Yacht Tender designers Patrick Banfield and Jim Wilshire at Allseas Design. Powered by twin Yanmar 315hp diesels through Hamilton waterjets, a top speed of just over 35 knots was achieved during sea trials with a full complement of passengers and crew.
The main feature of this Allseas Tender is the hydraulic bow door system which make beach landing of guests and equipment effortless. Twin stainless steel hydraulic rams each side operate the hull and deck doors, powered by a Brevini 24V powerpack. The bow doors have a load bearing capacity of 1800kg when fully extended and resting on the beach.
A large water ballast tank forward enables the bow to be trimmed down when beaching, this lowers the front of the bow door to ensure contact with the beach, and also enables the fore foot to be lifted off the sea floor when the tank is emptied to avoid the possibility of stranding on a falling tide.
This Yacht Tender also doubles as a Dive Tender, with a custom dive rack for eight bottles incorporated into the central seating unit. A large, fold out dive ladder is located under a hatch on the aft deck, while it is envisaged that the bow doors may also provide an alternative dive or swim platform. A 25 litre hot water cylinder is also fitted supplying a cockpit shower to further cater for divers needs.
A retractable anchor arm folds away snugly into a forward deck locker, with anchoring via a Lewmar winch operated by a hand held remote. A manual stern anchor is deployed when beach landing to hold the boat in position.
The substantial exterior fender is Lloyd Stevenson Boatbuilders custom Seamless Fender System, incorporating a low density foam core with a smooth, high gloss exterior rubber sheathing which provides a very robust fender with a Superyacht quality finish.
The engine bay is spacious and uncluttered, with powder coated, perforated alloy sheet encasing the sound proofing and making up the interior bulkhead coverings. This creates a light, bright, easy to clean and damage resistant surface. The large engine service hatch is raised on heavy duty Linak hatch lifters, while access can also be gained through the two smaller deck hatches towards the front of the service hatch. The engine room also features Seaworth demister vents with fan forced air extraction.
The Garcon Tender is CE certified for 10 passengers and crew, and can transport up to 2000kg of equipment in the load bay area. A Besenzoni G409 hydraulic crane is mounted to port, with a lifting capacity of 400kg, this can be used to lift heavy items from a beach or dock, or lift water toys direct from the water.
